R2-DT!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

One of my favorite show pieces is this duct tape model of R2-D2, everyone’s favorite droid from Star Wars (the orange soccer ball droid notwithstanding).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R2 took about a week to complete, using stills from the movies as reference. Nearly every panel, light, and decoration is as close to the original as possible using duct tape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The base is made up of two empty rolls, and the dome is stuffed with plastic grocery bags to keep it from collapsing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
